Mark A. Graber, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.

Mark A. Graber is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, and Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is a professor of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa and is the Chairperson of the State of Iowa Medicaid Utilization Review Commission. Dr. Graber is the author of numerous papers and two books: The University of Iowa Family Medicine Handbook, (translated into Japanese, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia), now in its 5th edition (2006, Elsevier, Philadelphia) and Family Practice Examination and Board Review, 3rd edition (2012, McGraw-Hill, New York). He writes a column for American Family Physician on Evidence Based Medicine and is clinical associate editor of Prescriber's Letter (Stockton, California). He has a strong interest in international health and was the recipient of a Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award in 2010. His research interests include medical ethics, medical informatics and medical decision-making. When not working, he can usually be found on his bicycle.

Dr. Levine ’s educational interests revolve around curricular innovation and optimization of student and resident education. Her research interests focus on patient safety and safe transitions of care. She continues to practice medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and is passionate about teaching at the bedside.

Dr. Levine is an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She serves as a member of the Research committee of the Clerkship Directors of Internal Medicine.

Kurt Pfeifer, MD, FACP, FHM

Dr. Pfeifer completed medical school and Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin prior to serving there as chief resident. He subsequently joined the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin and served as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency for 9 years. He is currently the director of the preoperative evaluation clinic at the Froedtert and Medical College Eye Institute and a course director in MCW’s Discovery Curriculum. His clinical and scholarly activities focus primarily on perioperative and consultative medicine, medical education and career development. Dr. Pfeifer has co-authored over 300 student and resident abstracts, case reports and national presentations and has written and lectured extensively on perioperative medicine and medical education. He is also an Associate Editor for SHM Consults, an online curriculum for perioperative and consultative medicine.
